Miami, FL – On April 19, 2018 Lotus House/Sundari Foundation held its grand opening gala celebration culminating its “dream come true” project, the Lotus Village. The Leesfield Family Foundation and numerous supporters, community leaders and friends gathered to recognize the remarkable impact of Lotus House in South Florida. Over a decade ago, a group of volunteers committed to providing sanctuary, support, and education to homeless women and children in the Miami-Dade County area, formed the Sundari Foundation, making the Lotus House the Foundation’s first initiative. In 2006, thanks to the generosity of so many and the hard work of Constance Collins, President, directors and staff, the Lotus House opened its doors to hundreds of homeless women and children in our community. Twelve years later, that humble shelter blossomed to become a state-of-the-art facility with an expanded capacity to house over 500 women and children, the Lotus Village. “We applaud Constance Collins for her vision and are so honored to support the important work of Lotus House/Sundari Foundation, Inc.,” said Chair Ira Leesfield.
