Coconut Grove Elementary School, the oldest school in Miami, FL needs a little help in reaching its goal to meet educational challenges in the face of public school funding cuts.
The Leesfield Family Foundation was there last year, and again this year to help with the implementation of educational enrichment programs, such as LEGO Robotics. Under this nationwide program, which began at MIT, children join age-appropriate teams and, with adult guidance, build robots using special LEGO kits. “It is so gratifying to support and assist a good cause so close to home. Coconut Grove Elementary is just a mile from the Leesfield Family Foundation headquarters,” said Ira Leesfield, who drives by the school every day.
