The Leesfield Family Foundation is “all in” on GIVE MIAMI DAY – November 18th. In these extraordinary times, more advantaged Americans are emerging to help those who have less and need more. So, the Leesfield Family Foundation has ramped up its giving program with additional support to longtime recipients while recognizing the increased need of scholarships and charities helping families. We now support four South Florida food banks and homeless shelters.

We have re-dedicated our commitment to Give Miami Day by recognizing scholarship needs, as well as support for the daily survival of so many Floridians displaced or impacted by the COVID-19 virus. For instance, resources have been directed to the Fatherhood Task Force of South Florida, headed by Holly Zwerling, President/CEO, helping her with local agencies and communities to serve fathers, grandfathers and other significant male role models as mentors in children’s lives teaching family members how to co-parent effectively. Holly Zwerling’s response capturing her appreciation for our support reads:
“We appreciated the joyful picture of the father uplifting his daughter on the beach alongside recognition of our work in your Family Safety Issue newsletter. We are using the slogan Fathers Uplift Children for our Give Miami Day message. Thank you again for your gracious and generous gift to uplift father engagement with their children through our programming.
Your love of children and respect for fathers in families is always appreciated. We will recognize the heartfelt giving of The Leesfield Family Foundation in our social media outlet.
Best always,.” Holly Zwerling, President & CEO
Likewise, the Foundation has jumped back into the important work of the YES Institute. Thanks have been expressed by Joseph Zolobczuk, Executive Director.
“It takes someone with a big heart and a real commitment to changing lives to be a part of the Kiaora Society of Donors. Your participation is a gift to everyone connected to YES Institute, and allows us to take our work where it is needed most.”
Our involvement in YES Institute spans a full decade and will continue into the future as its needs expand.
Live Like Bella is an impactful, important and necessary organization, dedicated to the support of children diagnosed with cancer, research and family support. A close friend of the Foundation, Give Miami Day will recognize our substantially increased contribution for the goals of this unique organization.
“On behalf of all of us here at Live Like Bella® I would like to start off by saying thank you for your support. We just received you generous donation in the mail for Give Miami Day and we could not be more grateful. “
Kind regards,
Monica M. Diaz

Additional and continuing contribution to the Melissa Institute are made in honor of Kenneth Bloom, one of its stalwart advocates.
Give Miami Day will be highlighted on the Leesfield Family Foundation blog with recognition on its electronic media board on South Dixie Highway and through a social media outreach. If you have not committed yet, please do so at www.givemiamiday.org
Heading towards 2022, the Foundation has more than trippled its resources, and, will continue with the scholarship programs aimed towards law students recommended by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers – Miami Chapter and the American Association for Justice law student program.
In 2022, as in past years, we are prepared to move quickly in response to natural disasters and unprecedented tragedies. Most recently we donated $5,000 to Baptist/South Miami Health System, in support of front line medical staff and first responders, providing meals and emergency support to our heroic workers. This was one of several COVID-19 response efforts to ease the stress on the medical workers and provide an acknowledgement of their work. The Foundation’s efforts were recognized by Dr. Yvonne Johnson, Chief Medical Officer, at a South Miami Hospital staff meeting. The Foundation continues significant support for the Baptist Health Foundation working closely with the Miami Cancer Institute and the leaders at Baptist Health South to maintain the highest of level of medical care for South Floridians.
The Foundation has announced its support of the Alzheimer’s Association “Walk to End Alzheimer’s”, to raise awareness and funds for advance research in the treatment, care and family support of individuals battling the debilitating disease. We will join the fight against the disease on November 20th with “Team Ed and Maria Shohat” in honor of their longtime friend Maria Shohat, who recently passed away from complications of the illness.
Our publication “Now, We Can ‘Do Good’ Together!” has been received by 5,000 community leaders and influencers bringing more attention and much needed help to the important needs of less fortunate Americans and Floridians.
Our efforts on behalf of food banks in Miami and Key West will be funded throughout the year and specifically to uplift the Thanksgiving season and holidays. In honor of the Monroe County Bar Association’s efforts, the Leesfield Family Foundation and Leesfield & Partners, P.A., longtime members of MCBA, proudly supported the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. with generous contributions.
We, at the Leesfield Family Foundation, wish everyone a wonderful new year where we can “do good together.”
