Apr. 11, 2014
It has been a productive and exciting 2014, so far. We continue to dedicate considerable resources to the underprivileged by supporting local and national organizations such as the Clinton Foundation, Parkinson’s Foundation, American Jewish Committee, the Jewish Museum of Florida, among others. Our emphasis on protecting children and feeding the elderly is an ongoing commitment.
In particular, The Leesfield Family Foundation sponsors and applauds the important work of the Fatherhood Task Force of South Florida and proudly joins this organization and State Senator Dwight Bullard in celebrating “Fathers as Educators.” Senator Bullard presented a state resolution designating May 14, 2014 as “Fathers in Education Day” and May 12-16, 2014 as “Fathers in Action and Advocacy Week.” During this week, fathers will have the opportunity to be involved in numerous ways to show their support for children’s education. A number of studies suggest that early, positive involvement of fathers in intellectually stimulating activities, nurturing and general caregiving strengthens a child’s development. Fatherhood Task Force needs our support in reaching out to community businesses and organizations to actively join in this important campaign. If we believe that children are our future, then we must all be part of the challenge of getting fathers and male role models to get involved in this initiative. Take action! Contact your friends, family and business partners and encourage them to get involved as well. Donate to Fatherhood Task Force or other children’s organization. One hundred per cent of your donation through the Leesfield Family Foundation will go directly to the organization or cause of your choice. Visit www.Leesfieldfamilyfoundation.org for information.
