Thirteen-year-old Michael Leesfield learned from a very young age the importance of giving to those who are less fortunate. From the time he was in first grade, he would gladly give part of his weekly allowance to causes of his choice, which are focused on animals and children’s needs. So, it is not surprising that Michael displaying his maturity, compassion and gratitude, decided to donate all of his Bar Mitzvah money to two of his favorite organizations,Voices For Children Foundation, Inc., which for the past 28 years has protected abused and abandoned children in Miami-Dade County, and The Humane Society of Greater Miami, which has been placing homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. In all, Michael gave over $5,000 to these organizations. Michael encouraged his Bar Mitzvah guests, family and friends to donate to these organizations as well.
“Thank you for ‘Being a Voice’ to our children through the generous donation in honor of Michael Leesfield…It is only through your generosity that we are able to help over 3,000 abused children.”
“Thank you so much for these gifts.
It was a wonderful and generous gesture from Michael…”
